The Role
We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join our Brisbane team. You will form part of the Business Support Services – Finance department, with a strong team culture of continuous improvement and setting each other up for success.
You will be responsible for:
- Provide support for the Chief Financial Officer and Finance Manager, as well as assisting the Finance Administration team;
- End of month reconciliations and reporting;
- Distribution of monthly expense reports to various firm cost centre leads;
- Maintenance of Partner Accounts, and liaising with Partner financial advisors as required;
- Ensure tax compliance, including assisting with the preparation of the firm’s income tax return, monthly BAS lodgement, and annual FBT lodgment;
- Assist with the development of the firm’s annual budget;
- Complete end of month bank reconciliations;
- Assist and back up maintenance of exception rates at client and matter level;
- Bank Covenants compliance preparation;
- Peer Monitor upload and maintenance;
- Aderant end of month and end of financial year closure; and
- Adhoc project work.
Experience
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of commercial accounting experience, ideally in a professional services environment, and formal accounting qualifications or has commenced accounting studies. Knowledge of Legal Accounting Software is also highly regarded. We are looking for someone who is ambitious, driven, a self-starter and who is looking for challenge.

- Excellent attention to detail;
- A hands-on, proactive and collaborative working style;
- Flexibility to undertake a range of complex tasks, manage conflicting priorities and work hours necessary to meet business objectives;

- Maturity to deal with sensitive and confidential information; and
- Have a strong service ethic.
