About the role
The Financial Accountant - Fixed Assets is responsible for undertaking fixed asset duties and providing accounting support to the organisation.
Your key responsibilities in this role will be:
Recording costs and depreciation/amortisation of fixed assets; maintain fixed asset records; archive fixed assets; account for the disposition of fixed assets; comply with legislative and organisational requirements; participate in auditing activities.
Reviewing Capital Work-in-Progress (CWIP) transactions; ensure the recording of costs complies with statutory obligations; prepare reconciliations and reports for CWIP and fixed asset movements; assist with annual budget preparation of assets and CWIP costings.
Preparing and calculating month-end depreciation/amortisation journals.
Responding to fixed asset and business support desk enquiries.
Assisting to prepare consolidated fixed asset notes for the consolidated financial statements.
Providing assistance to Accountants and internal stakeholders to ensure all statutory obligations are achieved; recommend improvements and take corrective action where policies, procedures and internal controls are breached.
Providing accounting support and assistance to projects.
Indicative Total Remuneration: $79,000 (plus significant salary sacrificing benefits + superannuation).
About you
You will be a details orientated, individual who understands the impact that your role has in equipping the business. You will have demonstrated experience in Excel and be able to efficiently manipulate large amounts of data.
In order to thrive in this position, your skills knowledge and experience will ideally include:
Degree qualification in Accounting.
Experience in fixed asset reporting and accounting standards, management reporting, general ledger reconciliation.
Two years' experience obtaining comprehensive knowledge of all relevant fields (Fixed assets, AASB and Internal Systems).
Membership or associated member with the Institute of Chartered Accountants in Australia (ICA) or the Australian Society of Certified Practicing Accountants (CPA) will be highly regarded.
A current National Police Certificate - or the ability to acquire.
