About the role:

We are looking for a Financial Accountant on a permanent full-time basis to assist with the provision of financial accounting and reporting to meet management and statutory requirements, including the delivery of timely and accurate information, maintenance of reporting systems, financial policies and processes, reconciliations, internal controls compliance obligations. This role reports to the Financial Controller for Icon’s Pharmacy Services division.

Key responsibilities:

• End of month activities as outlined in the finance timetable including but not limited to: bank recs, preparation of general journals and prepayments
• Completion of balance sheet reconciliations and supporting documentation in a timely manner
• Assist with the formulation of accounting/business policies and procedures and ensure they are adhered to and applied consistently.
• Fixed Asset accounting including asset capitalisation and monthly depreciation
• Project accounting
• Preparation of periodic GST and FBT returns
• Debtors reporting
• Reconciling Intercompany accounts
• Supporting the year end and audit processes and preparation of statutory accounts.
• Recommend improvements of processes with a focus on optimal efficiency and accuracy
• Ensure compliance with all policies in line with legislative, company law and tax requirements

About you:

We are seeking an accounting professional who is experienced in a large, complex, multi-site/entity organisation, is willing to work in a team and have the ability to prioritise their workload in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail along with effective communication and problem-solving skills are required to succeed in these roles.

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Tertiary qualification in accounting or relevant qualification
• Working knowledge of tax, legislation and company law including: FBT, GST, PAYG
• Commercial experience in a large entity

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Excellent understanding of financial accounting and financial reporting systems with a capacity to interpret the financial reporting and processing needs of the organisational and communicate with IT
• Excellent ability to communicate and work well within a team
• Very strong spreadsheet and ERP system experience and skill
• Excellent understanding of monthly management reporting processes and prior experience with co-ordinating and completing monthly management reporting cycles
• Possess change management, negotiating and influencing skills
• Understanding of risk management and internal controls
