Financial Accountant

A leading Engineering firm with offices all over the world is now seeking an experinced Financial Accountant to join their team here in sunny Brisbane.

In this role you will be responsible for contributing to month-end reporting including standard payroll costing and variance analysis, as well as preparation of the yearly financial reports consisting of the consolidated AUA financial statements along with smaller standalone financial statements.

Your duties will include:

• Prepare annual consolidated statutory financial statements
• Liaise with auditors and prepare audit requests for APAC
• Lead standard month-end payroll costing & standard costing variance analysis
• Preparation/review of finance lease accounting in accordance with IFRS 16
• Review general ledger reconciliations
• Prepare and review month-end & quarterly reports
• Lead & establish improvement processes
• Ad-hoc reporting and analysis

To be successful in this role you will have: 

• CA/CPA qualified
• Approx 5+ years accounting experience - Preferably receiving CA with big 4 and some post audit experience preparing financials or performing month-end duties
• Technical accounting skills
• SAP experience essential
• Ability to problem solve and seek improvements
• An attitude to take responsibility, work within a team and constantly improve
• Superior oral, written and interpersonal communication skills
