As a result of continuous national growth, LAI Group are seeking a Financial Controller to join our team at our head office in Adelaide (Ferryden park) within our Accounts department. Schedule
Full-time
A 38-hour week (Monday – Friday).
Salary (Negotiable - Experience, knowledge, and ability will be taken into consideration).
The Position
The Financial Controller is responsible for managing the accounts and the administrative functions of the business. Reporting directly to the Director of LAI Group, the appropriate candidate will manage a small team that manages the financial functions of payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable that will provide financial visibility to Senior Management within a timely manner, whilst liaising and maintain rapport with external financial parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and communicate financial analytical reports to Senior Management on optimal financial structures and operations to support growth and profitability objectives.
- Distinguishing the total manufacturing cost from direct and indirect costs and establish plans to improve LAI Group’s financial position.
- Establish cost accounting reports, analyse, and provide feedback to Senior Management on LAI Group’s cost structure.
- Facilitate, analyse, and provide reports on LAI Group’s job costing system to Senior Management to gather data that can be leveraged to assist in making informed pricing decisions, optimize production processes, and allocate resources effectively.
- Preparing and analyse month-end reports for Senior Management, including but not limited to; profit and loss statements, Business Activity Statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Provide Senior Management with accurate and comprehensive financial information to implement and guide effective policy/procedural making and financial succession.
- Forecast future financial performance to distinguish areas for improvement and growth.
- Track and communicate to Senior Management LAI’s cash flow to assist in establishing accurate forecast clash flow needs.
- Ensure LAI Group is compliant with all statutory requirements financially.
- Assist in other general finance and administration related tasks as required.
The Candidate
- A tertiary qualification in Accounting, Business or Finance combined with a minimum of 5 years’ experience within financial accounting.
- Previous experience in overseeing or managing financial activities within the manufacturing industry.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply Australian Accounting Standards and applicable Australian taxation legislation.
- Experienced and competent in financial reporting and management.
- Strong knowledge of tax compliance.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage priorities and achieve deadlines.
- Proficient in the use of compute based software such a Excel, Microsoft Office Suites, and an ERP system (i.e, ABM, MicrOpay etc.).
- Troubleshoot to identify successful solutions when problems arise.
