This is an opportunity for a Deadly First Nations individual to join us as a First Nations Talent Acquisition Specialist in the development and enhancement of ATSI talent attraction practices. This position is to proactively support, engage and build internal capability to support First Nations hiring capability across Goodstart, together with sourcing and talent acquisition activities. You will develop, and update procedures/polices relating to First Nations recruitment and developing a new recruitment pathway for First Nation Talent. This may include, developing new recruitment processes/practices including training for Talent Partners and Hiring Managers. The goal being the attraction, engagement, selection and assessment of high calibre First Nations candidates into Goodstart centres, whilst providing Hiring Managers insights on appropriate, inclusive and considered hiring decisions. As the first point of contact for First Nations candidates seeking opportunities in the Early Childhood Education and Care sector, you will competently undertake targeted recruitment campaigns to support qualified talent and unqualified First Nations candidates to gain entry into Early Learning and Goodstart, and source for our Indigenous Traineeship program.

Your Impact

Leveraging your experience building capability in teams, you will seek out improvement and innovation in our current recruitment processes, developing a new pathway for First Nations Talent to deliver inclusive solutions that respond to and support our First Nations employment aspirations. You will strategically source talent into our centres across and demonstrate an innovative approach to strategically sourcing First Nations referrals through effective tools, databases, proactive talent sourcing including Boolean searches to create, build and maintain talent pipelines. You will establish partnerships with external ATSI organisations focused on Indigenous employment and establish connections or leverage existing connections within community to raise awareness of employment pathways and expand talent pipelines. Through supporting existing partnerships in ongoing placement opportunities for First Nations people – you will participate in community events surrounding National Reconciliation Week and NAIDOC, Career Expos to raise profile of Goodstart and connect with prospective candidates.

You’ll help achieve this by

As an ABTSI - you are passionate about working with and for your mob and have experience working in partnership with community and partners to drive great solutions for Aboriginal and Torres Strait islander people. You will work with the First Nations Voices and Leaders group to enhance the employee value proposition for First Nations Goodstarters. You have experience in recruitment, workforce planning, human resources, project management, Indigenous Affairs or similar and thrive in a high performance, dynamic environment.
