- Assist in the identification of impacts from development proposals upon freshwater and marine fisheries resources, for example waterways providing fish passage and marine plants.
- Assist with the identification and negotiation of lesser impact options for development proposals.
- Assess applications for legislative approvals that impact on fisheries resources and provide written recommendations of conditions for an approval or refusal of the application.
- Prepare reports, letters and comments and delivery of formal and informal talks or presentations.
- Carry out pre-work development proposal site inspections and impact monitoring of completed authorised developments.
- Assist in the review and preparation of comments on planning instruments in relation to the management of fish habitats and fisheries resources.
