As per the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries' mandatory vaccination policy, it is a condition of employment for this role that the employee, is and remains fully vaccinated against COVID-19 (DAF COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements - Policy & Procedure).

  • Assist in the identification of impacts from development proposals upon freshwater and marine fisheries resources, for example waterways providing fish passage and marine plants.
  • Assist with the identification and negotiation of lesser impact options for development proposals.
  • Assess applications for legislative approvals that impact on fisheries resources and provide written recommendations of conditions for an approval or refusal of the application.
  • Prepare reports, letters and comments and delivery of formal and informal talks or presentations.
  • Carry out pre-work development proposal site inspections and impact monitoring of completed authorised developments.
  • Assist in the review and preparation of comments on planning instruments in relation to the management of fish habitats and fisheries resources.
