Fitter Mechanic (Diesel and Heavy Earthmoving Equipment)

Location – location for the role will vary; preliminary location in Dysart Queensland
Salary
negotiable in the range $80-110k per annum, net superannuation per annum
Employment Status:
Full Time - Hours may or may not include evening and weekend work and may vary according to roster and site.
Primary Function:
Provision of scheduled and ad-hoc repair and maintenance of a fleet of heavy earthmoving equipment including dozers, graders, excavators, dump trucks etc. (Makes and models will vary.)
Main Tasks/ Duties
· Carry out engine and mechanical servicing and repairs and general fabrication work
· Carry out supervised and unsupervised work, as directed
· Report damage, defects, faulty workmanship or any nonconformance threatening safety and quality standards
· Prepare schedules for shutdowns, servicing, and planned maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
· The upkeep of tools and equipment so they are in an efficient and safe operating condition
· Checking and testing of repairs and mechanical work, before plant, vehicles and equipment are used
· Maintaining a clean working environment
· Correct use of Personal Protective Equipment
· Reporting any incidents including near misses or accidents to a superior including those that may result in environmental damage or an infringement of environmental standards
· Following all relevant site procedures as trained in site inductions
· Maintaining and repairing equipment in a time frame that is acceptable
Qualifications and Experience:
Applicants are expected to hold highly relevant trade qualification with at least 3 years of relevant experience, ideally in mining services.
