Jumbuck are a fourth generation Australian business with large scale sheep and cattle stations throughout Australia.
We seek an experienced Fixed-Wing Pilot / Station Hand to join the team at Rawlinna; located on the western side of the Nullarbor, 4 hours’ drive east of Kalgoorlie in WA. The station is well developed, maintained and resourced and covers 2.5 million acres, running up to 65,000 Merino sheep at capacity in 230mm rainfall country.
The Pilot / Station Hand reports directly to the Station Manager and you will be operating the station’s Cessna 172 which is well-maintained, with sound airstrip, hangar and top-rated refuelling setup.
Your main duties while flying will be aerial stock spotting and supporting the crew on the ground along with property and stock inspections. As you won’t be required to fly daily, you will join the crew as a Station Hand and involved in the daily station activities that include livestock work and maintenance.
To be considered for this position you will have:
Australian Commercial Pilots License (essential)
Minimum 200 hours of total flying time (essential)
Experience flying a Cessna 172 (essential)
Low-Level Flying and / or Mustering Endorsement (can be obtained if successful)
A competitive wage is available, eligibility from day 1 into the Jumbuck Staff Bonus with single-person accommodation available on the station. Previous farm or station experience will be highly regarded as will an appreciation for living and working in Outback Australia.
