About the role
City of Parramatta has an exciting opportunity to become part of a Civil Design Team working on a diverse range of project scales and types. This is a 35 hour per week full time position for a fixed term up to 3 years. The team is creative and fast paced, responsible for the design and documentation of a range of civil infrastructure assets. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Lead and prepare concept and detailed designs for complex hydrological and flood modelling projects;
- Provide specialist, technical and practical hydrological and flood modelling advice to infrastructure asset owners and key stakeholders;
- Oversee the development of flood modelling standards and procedures relevant to COP;
- Completion and handover of all detailed flood modelling design documentation to the Supervisor Civil Design and Project Manager
- Ensuring design proposals meet all statutory requirements and relevant Australian standards
- Participate in the assessment, implementation and monitoring of improvements and technological changes to the Capital Project’s Team’s technical capabilities.
About You
The Senior Civil Design Engineer position would suit an enthusiastic person who has a great interest in designing and documenting primarily road infrastructure projects for construction. You also have:
- Degree in Civil Engineering
- Class C Drivers Licence
- Extensive demonstrated experience in the field of Engineering Water management and design with emphasis on Flood Modelling and Road Drainage Design (approx. 10 years)
- High level computer literacy and previous experience using Civil Engineering Software at an advanced level, specifically TUFLOW and/or other flood modelling software and Drains
- Knowledge of construction materials and techniques in both documentation of projects and site supervision
- Strong analytical, research and problem solving skills.
