We are looking for a floor gun who wants to continue to grow their career. This role suits someone who can own a section, is great with food and wine knowledge, can have a great chat with guests and is able to work in collaboration with our head chef. About Us:
Kittyhawk has been serving up high-quality cocktails and food to the Sydney masses since 2016. We consider ourselves a bar first and foremost but offer a killer food menu designed to be enjoyed all night.
Our bar is strongly spirit focused, with a concentration on North American Whisky and Rum – as reflected in our seasonal cocktail lists. Our team of professional bartenders deliver world class cocktails and quality service but know when to turn the place into a party when times suit.
Spirits aside, we also boast a comprehensive wine list encompassing French, Australian, and Natural wines in what we consider to be the best of the best.
This is all designed to go hand-in-hand with our modern French food offerings. We focus on using local produce of the highest quality to create an unpretentious dining atmosphere. The menu changes seasonally using sustainable produce as much as possible. The chefs make as much as possible in house which flows through to the end product.
On top of all of these, Kittyhawk also contains an event space, which can be tailored to suit everything from weddings, formal sit-down dinners, birthday parties, live music events, corporate lunches, etc. With so much going on at Kittyhawk, there is never a dull moment. The role:
- Be a direct support to our General Manager and work in line with our management team. Assist in leading and developing a strong and well established FOH and BOH team.
- Manage the day to day operations ensuring that the level of customer service is consistently in line with our brand standards.
- Maintain an exceptional level of service and delivery of our cocktail and wine lists.
- Have a confident level of knowledge in wines/spirits/cocktails and be able to contribute and elevate the development of our beverage offering.
- Help our established bar team push boundaries and introduce new ideas to our beverage program.
- Maintain operations within budgetary requirements.
- Attend our weekly management meetings, contribute agenda points by sharing issues and observations.
- Involvement in recruitment, training and development as well as on the job
performance management. - Motivate and inspire our team to achieve great results.
Required skills & attributes:
- Have held a similar managerial position in a cocktail driven venue for a minimum of 2 years.
- Ability to lead, manage, motivate, and develop staff
- Ensuring product is kept up to standards
- Knowledge of quality food & beverage products
- Knowledge of liquor licensing laws and venue compliance obligations, specifically RSA control.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to think on your feet and multi-task.
- engaging personality who knows when to throw a party
- Self motivated, makes use of check lists and communication methods to manage own workload and give regular updates.
- A strong understanding of BOH systems
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to delegate
effectively
- Prepared to work flexible hours for 5 shifts including nights and weekends.
- A passion for hospitality, leading from the front and developing relationships across all levels of the business
- Minimum of 3 references available from differing past venues if applicable
- Strong wine knowledge and a love of food.
- Experience working alongside the kitchen team to ensure we are all kicking goals together
- Ability to own a section and help others
- Desire to help nurture and grow a strong team
