About the Role…
An exciting opportunity exists for an individual seeking a role with a lot of variety to join our friendly team Kewarra Aged care in the role of Food Service Assistant and Cleaner on a part-time basis.
Responsibilities include but not limited to the following:
· Preparation, serving, presentation and delivery of food and beverages.
· Ensuring that the correct food and beverages are served to each resident, in a timely manner and according to their dietary/specialised nutritional requirements and/or known food allergens and tolerances.
· Provide assistance to residents when requested and refer any complaints or concerns to the Head Chef/ Clinical Care Coordinator/RN/EN or Facility Manager.
· Ensure that the clearing of dining rooms, removal of food trays from residents’ rooms, and the washing of dishes and cleaning are in accordance with Kewarra Aged Care Food Safety Program policy and procedure.
· Effectively manage own time to ensure all cleaning duties are completed within the required timeframe.
· Ensure that all cleaning tasks are completed on the daily tasks list and to a high standard.
· Ensure that all resident rooms are kept clean and common areas are kept clean and free of hazards.
· Maintain confidentiality of resident information.
· Ensure a high standard of customer service including presenting in a professional manner at all times when interacting with residents during meal services.
· Communicate effectively with residents, resident representatives and staff.
About you…
· Hospitality front of house experience desirable
· Certificate in Food Handling desirable
· Basic kitchen knowledge and experience
· Ability to read and interpret dietary information
· Experience in Aged Care food service and/or cleaning desirable
· Current First Aid certificate and CPR desirable
· Excellent communication skills
· Exceptional customer service skills
· Demonstrated organisational and time management skills with the ability to multitask
· Ability to comply with safe work practices and food handling practices
· Must have a current police clearance certificate or willingness to obtain same.
