The Role:
- To assist with food preparation, plating and service, warewashing and cleaning duties associated with the provision of food service to patients, visitors, and staff of the Launceston General Hospital.
Note: - Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
- Working primarily in the Launceston General Hospital Paediatric Ward (4K), work as a team to provide high quality meal and beverage service to patients
- Accurately prepare patient meal trays for breakfast, lunch, and dinner by placing on premade items and dishing-up meals, soups, and desserts etc.
- Observe dietary restrictions including food allergies and intolerances, match the correct meal with the correct patient by reading menu slips, signage above the patients bad and printed reports
- Serve breakfast, lunch, dinner, morning and afternoon tea along with hot and cold beverages to patents
- Complete wash-up of trays, crockery, and utensils and conduct cleaning tasks associated with food preparation and service areas including the mopping of floors, cleaning dishwashers, fridges, shelving, and benches
- The Food Service Department operates 365 days per year, shifts are 4-8 hours in duration between the hours of 6:30am and 7:45pm
- Successful applicants are required to maintain current Working with Children Registration at their own expense

(524819) Permanent, part time, shift work position working 56 hours per fortnight commencing from 18 September 2022
(527292) Fixed term, casual shift work position working as and when required commencing from 18 September 2022

- Applicants should note that, for a period of six months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time and part time vacancies.
Salary: $50,529 - $52,636 pro rata, per annum + 10.5% superannuation + access to salary packaging
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
- Salary range is in accordance with Public Sector Unions Wages Agreement 2019
