Role Overview - Foreman Production
Are you a seasoned professional in underground mining operations, ready to take on a challenging leadership role? Barrick Gold Porgera Operations is seeking a dynamic and experienced Foreman Production to oversee crucial aspects of our underground operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overseeing daily underground mining operations to ensure efficient production.
- Leading your team and coordinating their activities to achieve production targets.
- Implementing and enforcing safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
- Monitoring equipment performance and scheduling maintenance as needed to minimize downtime.
- Optimizing production processes to maximize output and minimize costs.
Managing inventory of supplies and materials needed for mining operations. - Training and development of the team and conducting performance evaluations for existing staff.
- Collaborating with other departments, such as engineering and maintenance, to resolve issues and improve efficiency.
- Reporting production metrics and progress to higher management.
Ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and company policies. - Troubleshooting problems as they arise and implementing solutions to keep operations running smoothly.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Several years of experience working in underground mining operations, preferably in gold mining.
- Previous experience in a supervisory or leadership role, demonstrating the ability to manage and lead a team effectively.
- In-depth knowledge of underground mining techniques, equipment, and safety procedures.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire teams to achieve excellence.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively liaise with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
