Foreshore Camping Officer

- Band 4, $33.83 per hour plus 25% casual loading
- The key focus of this position is the provision of customer service
About the role
The Foreshore Camping precinct operates approximately 1,100 powered and non-powered camp sites over three locations (Rosebud, Rye and Sorrento) and is a prime low-cost family holiday destination, between November and April each year. This seasonal operation generally caters for 100% occupancy at peak season times, servicing approximately 6000+ campers.
The front-line position of Foreshore Camping Officer provides a direct service to the Shire’s Foreshore Camping customers, working from any of the Foreshore Camping Offices. The position is responsible for field attendance to monitor operations, assist customers and respond to associated queries as well as the receiving, recording and receipt of bookings.
The key focus of this position is the provision of customer service. The successful applicant will be a key member of a dynamic and outstanding team.
Core responsibilities include:
- Respond to customers, to colleagues, customers and members of the public by telephone, email and face to face in an effective, efficient and timely manner, either in the field or in the office.
- Action incoming customer enquiries and requests related to camping in a timely manner.
- Facilitate onsite inspections.
- Log necessary maintenance requests for the Shire’s campgrounds, as required.
- Receipting and entry of payments in booking system.
- Reconciliation of bookings to income received.
- Create / modify booking information accurately.
- Conduct mail outs, database cleansing, word processing, and general team administrative tasks as requested.
Skills, experience, and other requirements
- Demonstrated experience in a busy customer service environment.
- Experience as a camping officer or similar role is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience in a Tourism / Holiday service provision environment is desirable.
- Practical experience in a camping ground environment is desirable.
- Walking in the monitoring of campsite allocations and camping matters is a requirement
- Experience working in Local Government desirable
