Form of workPurpose of the Position:
Operate forklifts to move bulk materials, containers, crates, palletised goods, cartons and bales.
Job Duties:
- Responsible for operating forklifts to move materials and products within a warehouse, storage facility, or construction site.
- Load and unload trucks, containers, and other transport vehicles, ensuring that materials are handled safely and efficiently.
- Responsible for transporting, stacking, and organizing goods and materials in a manner that maximizes storage space and minimizes the risk of damage.
- Regularly inspecting and maintaining forklift equipment to ensure it is in good working condition and reporting any mechanical issues or safety concerns to supervisors.
- Adhering to workplace safety guidelines and regulations to minimize the risk of accidents and injuries. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and following safe operating practices.
- Maintaining records of materials handled, inspections performed, and any incidents or accidents that occur while operating the forklift.
- Communicating with other team members, supervisors, and truck drivers to coordinate the movement of goods and ensure efficient operations.
- Complying with workplace policies and procedures related to the handling and storage of materials, as well as any specific guidelines related to the type of goods being handled.
- Maintaining a valid forklift license and staying up-to-date with training and certification requirements.
Requirements:
Our ideal candidate is an experienced Forklift Driver with AQF Certificate II or III with a minimum of two years fulltime work experience. At least one year of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
