Job description

Salary range: $60,000 - $80,000

OGONG Korean BBQ, a well-established and bustling restaurant, is currently seeking a
passionate, dedicated, and experienced Full-time Chef capable of showcasing high-level
management and culinary skills. Your primary responsibility will involve assisting in the
efficient management of the restaurant.
The main duties you will be undertaking include:
- Collecting and organizing food and commodities for different menus
- Collaborating closely with the Head Chef to estimate amounts and costs of required
supplies, including food, ingredients, and labor costs
- Maintaining the quality of dishes by inspecting ingredients and presentations
- Ensuring effective communication with kitchen team members and food service staff for the
smooth and efficient running of the kitchen
- Sharing ideas and collaborating with the Head Chef and restaurant manager to plan and
update menus, including daily specials
- Ensuring high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are maintained throughout the kitchen
area
- Training other kitchen staff, juniors, and apprentices
- Ensuring food stock is kept at correct and controlled temperatures to avoid spoilage
- Preparing, cooking, and seasoning food using various garnishes and sauces
- Demonstrating knife handling skills with the use of specialized kitchen equipment such as
ovens, stoves, etc.
- Providing advice on cooking procedures and organizing logical work sequences within the
given time
To be successful in this role, you should have:
- A current and up-to-date food safety handling qualification
- A highly professional manner, grooming, and hygiene
- Flexibility and adaptability to the fast-paced and dynamic restaurant industry
- A strong knowledge of food
- A team player with a positive and enthusiastic attitude
- Previous experience in a similar role for a minimum of 3 years
- A Certificate IV or Diploma in culinary or a related field.
