Medical Receptionist (Full Time) required for our busy Townsville GP Superclinic (General Practice).

Applicants with previous Healthcare industry experience preferred, however hospitality Reception/Administration or customer service skills suit also.

Monday to Friday (38 hours) predominately, with some flexibility requested re shifts covering mornings and evenings. Some rotational weekends at times, to assist with others on leave and to cover Practice opening hours.

Current opening hours are between 7.30am - 6pm weekdays, to 9.30pm Tuesday and Thursday nights, 8.45am – 6.30pm Saturday and 8.45am - 2.30pm Sunday.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Answering incoming calls, busy switchboard and professional emails
  • Making Appointments and managing multiple diaries on a software system
  • Friendly Meeting and greeting patients
  • General cleaning and upkeep of practice areas, following strict infection control requirements, stock take and restocking of supplies
  • Willingness to learn, be directed and follow procedures
  • COVID 19 screening of entering patients, in compliance with current guidelines
  • Dealing with patient enquiries, delays and rescheduling, over the phone and in person, including challenging situations
  • Filing, scanning, copying
  • Providing support / assistance to our healthcare professionals

The successful applicant must also have:

  • Exceptional customer service skills, with a polite manner, and empathic nature
  • Enjoy a fast paced environment
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, with a positive and enthusiastic disposition
  • Demonstrate outstanding organisational / time management skills, with the ability to multi-task
  • A commitment to on-the-job training and ongoing learning and development
  • Take pride in their written and verbal communication skills, paying attention to detail
  • Willing to take direction and work collaboratively as part of a Team
  • Intermediate computer knowledge/skills
  • The ability to show empathy towards others and a general desire to assist patients, co-workers and professionals
  • Must have current driver licence for errands (automatic work car)
  • Australian citizenship or permanent residency essential
