Link Building Systems is currently seeking a highly skilled Carpenter to join our team on a full-time basis or as a Subcontractor.
You will collaborate with the project manager and building team to construct, install, and repair a variety of structures and fixtures, including frameworks, partitions, door and window installations, stairways, rafters, and flooring.
Demonstrated experience working with raw and finish materials as well as having a sound working knowledge of standard industry tools and equipment is a must.
Possession of a valid driver’s license and reliable transport is essential as there will be times where you will be required travel to job sites.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Take measurements and calculate the sizes and amounts of materials needed for the project.
- Cut, shape, and smooth timber and other materials.
- Build wall and window frames, doors, staircases, and other structures according to measurements using raw materials or pre-constructed items.
- Installations of floors, cladding, cabinets, plasterboard, and insulation
- Inspect products and conduct repairs or maintenance as needed
- Be punctual and comply with all company and governmental safety guidelines
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Carpentry qualification of Certificate III or higher.
- 2+ years of professional residential and commercial carpentry experience.
- Construction Induction Safety Certificate (white card)
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transport.
- Possess basic power, hand, and measurement tools.
- Strong working knowledge of carpentry techniques and methods, including installation and construction.
- Able to work unsupervised and meet firm deadlines.
- Possess an excellent eye for detail and dedication to the highest standards of workmanship.
- Proficient in using a variety of power, hand, and measurement tools.
- Able to read and interpret building plans and technical drawings
- Good physical condition, stamina, and dexterity.
The right candidates will have on-going work within a dynamic residential building company. Remuneration will be paid under the Building & Construction General On-site Award 2020, and is negotiable based on experience, professionalism, and quality of workmanship. Fuel card or similar will offered following the completion of a successful trial period.
