About the role
This role will see our successful candidate provide support to the medical teams within Surgical Services at John Hunter Hospital. This includes assisting with the typing and distributing of clinical correspondence, providing support for patient enquiries, assisting with billing, and secretarial support for meetings.
Support will be provided through an on boarding program that will include regular meetings with their line manager, mentoring from a peer, as well as a combination on online and face to face education under the administration curriculum.

This position is full time; however, part time/job share arrangements may also be considered.

Where you'll be working
This temporary full time position is based within the Clinical Support Unit of Surgical Services at John Hunter Hospital. This role assists with supporting the administration team with leave relief on a full time basis. This includes assisting our clinicians with typing of clinical dictations, preparing and minuting department meetings, providing customer service and other reasonable administration duties as required.

Our ideal candidate will be self driven and customer focused professional to assist with our Clinical Support Team. This role is a fantastic opportunity for development on a temporary basis to learn about our administration support within John Hunter Hospital. You possess strong communication skills with the ability to work within a team environment.

All NSW Health workers are required to have completed a primary course of a COVID-19 vaccine which has been approved or recognised by the Therapeutics Goods Administration (TGA). Additionally, Category A workers are required to receive a booster dose three months after completing the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations. Acceptable proof of vaccination is the Australian Immunisation Register (AIR) Immunisation History Statement or AIR COVID-19 Digital Certificate. Booster doses are highly recommended for all health care workers who have completed the primary course of COVID-19 vaccinations.

To be eligible for employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport, or hold an appropriate visa that allows you to live and work in Australia. Employment of a temporary visa holder will only be offered in line with the conditions and expiry date of your visa.
