A unique opportunity to join a NASDAQ listed software business at the very forefront of their field. This is a newly created role within the tax team in Australia, reporting into the Australia Tax Lead. While the business has a huge global footprint, the Australian arm is still in its infancy and is looking to grow substantially in the coming years.
Your new role
The Fund Tax Accountant is responsible for assisting with client deliverables, transitions and project deliverables impacting the Tax Services team. You will be involved in the preparation of tax compliance calculations for fund administrations as well as being involved in the testing of processes and templates, update of standard operating procedures, client transitions and projects. In addition, you will be required to:
Provide accurate and timely delivery of tax reporting deliverables.
Preparation of tax compliance calculations, including but not limited to distribution calculations, AIIR, income tax returns, investor statements and BAS returns etc.
Assist to draft tax policies and procedures for tax risk control purposes.
Attend to and respond to client queries.
Adherence to operational compliance and risk policies.
Assist in the completion of projects, including testing of tax templates.
What you'll need to succeed
Degree qualified in Business, Accounting or related discipline with 2 -3 years experience.
Qualified Accountant (CA/CPA) or near completion.
Experience gained in a fund tax role in either professional corporate tax practice or fund administrator/manager is preferred.
Knowledge of fund accounting, reporting and related operational risk and compliance requirements of the client service function.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
