Job description

about the role

Farmers for Climate Action has a role open for a passionate person who thrives on high-impact and purposeful fundraising work. This position is a pivotal role, supporting farmers and farming communities calling for strong climate policies that protect Australia’s farming future.

Our Fundraising Manager makes our whole movement’s work thrive, by generating and managing the resources we need to achieve our vision and mission.

This position is flexible in location - we support remote, hybrid and in-office work across our team. We have great systems and a positive culture around remote work to support our staff working from rural, regional and urban locations.

Here’s a bit about what we’re looking for - if this is you (or mostly you!) we’d love you to put in an application as soon as possible:

  • You are keen to make a difference in the most important decade of our lives for action on climate change.
  • You have connections to rural Australia and you care about the future of agriculture and farming communities.
  • You have the skills and drive to raise funds that are foundational to our work putting climate change and agriculture at the forefront of government and industry policy.
  • You have a track record of developing effective strategies to engage and maintain relationships with donors and funding partners to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • You’re excited about working with a tight-knit team who supports and mobilises our farmer supporters to ensure their voices are heard on the national stage.
  • You value a supportive organisational culture and flexibility in your work.

We value a flexible, supportive, and positive work culture

Our staff are spread across Australia, and we provide the option for people to work from their farm or home, or to work from one of our office hubs. We’ve currently got co-working space in Canberra, Melbourne and Castlemaine (Vic).

We use a range of digital collaboration tools to stay in touch and work effectively together, and are committed to making sure staff have everything they need to get the job done.

We offer four weeks annual leave, personal and carers’ leave provisions, and we grant a day of extra leave on your birthday. We also offer office shutdown leave on the days between Christmas and New Year without deduction from your annual leave.

We have a commitment and budget for staff to tailor their professional development and take up networking opportunities that enhance their skills and experience.

We have a clear strategy and plan guiding our work, and we celebrate our wins and achievements together.

We strive to maintain a culture of wellbeing. We are set up to support part-time and flexible working conditions, and we put things in place to ensure all staff have a healthy work-life balance, including for people with caring responsibilities. We offer staff allowances for mental health and wellbeing services and supports.
