Job description

Salem Residential Aged Care community is minutes from Toowoomba’s town centre and offers a mix of single, shared or single private en-suite rooms in an open and friendly community that welcomes family and friends within a beautiful garden setting, we require an experienced gardener to provide upkeep and maintenance of the grounds.

About the role:

As a casual Gardener you will be responsible for:

  • Complete maintenance of the gardens and grounds of the services' and clients homes as outlined within their packages.
  • Ensure equipment and garden materials are utilised in a responsible and safe manner.
  • Ensure any work undertaken is within the scope of expertise of this role and refer any additional work back to the Home Service Manager.
  • Assisting the service coordinator to maintain appropriate communication with carers and family members nominated by the client.
  • Work to reduce risk and bring new risks to the attention of the service coordinator.
  • Undertaking administrative duties associated with the role.
About you:

Critical to your success in this role will be the proven ability to demonstrate:
  • Extensive experience working in home or commercial gardening.
  • A high level of effective interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Your ability to maintain confidentiality and impartiality.
  • Respect and responsiveness to client needs.
  • Well maintained, clean & reliable vehicle with full comprehensive insurance.
  • A willingness to work with non-traditional approaches to service delivery for older people.
