An opportunity has arisen for a Gas Fitter to join Origin’s LPG Energy Markets Business based in the Townsville and Mackay areas. The positions provide Gas Fitting services for the installation and maintenance of gas equipment at Origin customer and terminal sites.

• Complete new LPG installations to prescribed time frames in line with required codes and standards
• Ensure all work is completed in a safe manner, applying origins permit to work system
• Complete records in accordance with statutory and company requirements for bulk tanks, cylinders and terminal
• To actively participate in all residential, commercial, and industrial installations in the area
• Promote Origin services to and build relationships with customers to ensure best possible return for the business
• Provide advice on LPG, Natural gas installations to customers, including internal contacts
• Provide quotations for account managers for new or upgraded installations in line with required codes and standards this also includes and not limited to Plumbing and Type B if you hold the relevant qualifications
• Interpretation and application of Origin codes and Industry Standards
• Review existing installations to ensure they comply with current industry standards and Origin codes and provide information or quote to bring up to the currants standards
• Determine the most appropriate way to complete an installation
• Completion of required documents under the permit to work system

Is this you?

You place a high priority on searching for new ways to gain efficiency without sacrifice to the customer, service, and safety. You demonstrate a competent knowledge of established workplace and industry procedures for LPG, Natural gas servicing and installations, as well as working in an outside environment mainly and be prepared to learn and comply with Company and Statutory requirements.

While working unsupervised, your ability to deal with customers and resolve gas related issues and remain calm under pressure is essential. You possess a current Driver’s Licence, suitable for all vehicles driven.

You are a trade qualified Gas Fitter, with full type A license & exposure to LPG and Natural Gas. Prior domestic experience with exposure to performing B type servicing, breakdowns, and installation of gas appliances. Gas Type B, Plumbing/Draining and Electrical Licences are desirable.
