THE HISTORY
Lead the incredible team at ST KILDA’S MOST ICONIC pizza and bar restaurant.
Banff has been part of St Kilda’s famous Fitzroy Street since 1942. What is today a trendy apartment building, back in the day, 145 Fitzroy Street was used as an army barrack by American and Canadian soldiers during World War II, and what is now known as The Banff Restaurant, was then used as a galley to cook their meals.
The existing custodians of Café Banff have been lucky enough to only have had 4 General Managers take care of this wonderful and iconic St. Kilda local over the last 15 years.
After 3 years at the helm, the departure of our current leader leaves a very rare opportunity, for someone to claim the worthy position of General Manager of The Banff Café St Kilda.
THE OPPORTUNITY
GENERAL MANAGER – Café Banff
Your ordinary hours of work are an average of 38 hours per week averaged over each four-week period.
The Remuneration comprises of:
- Full-Time salary of $80,000 plus superannuation
- Plus, bonuses each quarter if KPI are reached
We are located at 145 Fitzroy Street; St Kilda VIC 3182 and our Trading Hours are:
Monday – Sunday 7am – 11pm
You will lead a front of house team of 10 hospitality staff.
THE FINE PRINT
This is an employee appointed by the Company to assist in the management of a shop, food outlet or delivery outlet.
Some indicative tasks required within your role include:
· Managing, guiding, and training the Front of House team at the level the business requires
· Stocktaking of Goods
· Maintain a strong relationship with all suppliers
· Scheduling training for POS, coffee, wine and beer, and cocktails
· Rostering
· Maintain the café in a presentable manner
· Managing & maintaining costs for COGS & Wages
· Suggesting seasonal changes to menu
· Updating point of sale when menu items or prices change
· Duty of care for all staff and venue at all times
· Opening of café
· Closing of café
· Holding quarterly staff meetings
· Working in conjunction with Head Chef to create and implement Food & Beverage policies
· Driving monthly social media plan with social media manager
· Managing 3rd part relationships including but not limited to food and beverage suppliers and platforms such as, UBER EATS, Menu Log etc.
· Following company opening & end of day procedures
· Maintaining all equipment in the venue in conjunction with the Head Chef by using the repairs and maintenance folder provided to you by the venue
· Collecting items or goods for the venue from various locations such as Chefs Hat, Costco, Kmart, Dan Murphy, Bunnings etc.
· Coordinating catering and providing direction to kitchen team
· Manage events from time to time
· Liaise with and book artists for Live Music at Banff
