About the role

We are now recruiting for a General Manager, Corporate Finance to join our global Finance team. This role forms part of the Global Finance Leadership Team and Global Senior Leadership Team. The GM Corporate Finance plays a key role in controlling and enhancing the financial, accounting and taxation methods, practices and procedures of our fast-paced global organisation.

Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this role is responsible for 7 direct reports and an overall hierarchy of 40 employees globally. You will coach, develop and lead a high-performing team, and ensure it has a high level of credibility and acceptance throughout the organisation.

You will be based in either our Adelaide or Melbourne office, with flexibility to work from home.

This role is full-time and permanent.

Key responsibilities include:

• Support the CFO, CEO and ELT in successfully implementing a strong, clear vision and strategy for the company’s global business portfolio
• Ensure the company's annual financial statements are produced on time and in accordance with international accounting standards, to present to the Board
• Represent the Executive Committee and the company both internally and externally, especially in relation to all financial matters and links to business issues and strategy
• Make sure that the Company at all levels acts according to the external and internal rules, regulations and applicable laws in relation to financial matters
• Ensure that the company has effective resources to maximise financial performance. This will include a tax structure, interest cover and levels of debt and equity, which are appropriate for the company.
• Ensure that the Company has a Treasury function that fulfils the needs of an international company including cash, foreign currency and interest management.
• Identify and implement measures to optimize working capital
• Work with our offshore partner to drive efficiency in our accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
• Bring your continuous improvement mindset to a complex business area and be unafraid to leverage your experience to do things differently.
  

What you'll bring:

• Minimum 12 years accounting / financial management experience
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting or commerce, along with CPA or CA qualifications
• Proven track record as a finance leader in a large global business
• Good understanding of and demonstrated track record in capital management, financial systems and controls and financial reporting together with some treasury experience or cashflow and working capital management experience
• A high level of comfort in dealing with a Board/Owners
• Previous experience working in one of the Big Four will be highly regarded
