About the position
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager Customer and Energy Markets will be accountable for the growth of CleanCo's commercial and industrial retail, and energy trading functions.
Responsible for all energy trading matters including energy trading power station dispatch, trading, trading risk management, market forecasting, pricing, and regulatory management you will seek out and create innovative approaches to renewable energy and wholesale electricity pricing in Queensland and provide certainty and direction to the Energy Markets team and key stakeholders to inspire and facilitate sustained innovation.
You will also provide executive direction to the Commercial and Industrial retail function for CleanCo, delivering on CleanCo's customer-led philosophy through driving customer strategy and execution of retail trading requirements in the commercial and industrial market.
You will take accountability for building a connected and aligned culture, as a key member of a tightly integrated Executive Leadership Team and providing leadership and coaching support to your own team of talented and engaged professionals.
You will develop effective, resilient working relationships with key internal and external stakeholders ensuring financial, legislative, and regulatory obligations are adhered to, and you will support the implementation of current business improvement initiatives including process redesign and system upgrades and streamlining.
Additionally, your strong commercial skill set will enable you to partner with teams in CleanCo's financial, trading risk and project development functions to support excellence in portfolio management. You will help build commercial capability across the business and develop innovative solutions that deliver better outcomes for CleanCo's future large capital projects and customer partnerships.
About the person
- An experienced professional with at least 15 years' relevant experience in energy or financial market trading you will possess strong commercial and business acumen, with an understanding of the trends influencing the energy sector and a track record for developing innovative customer-centric strategies in response to these changes.
- A member of the Executive leadership team you will have proven experience in managing teams in an environment of continuous improvement, coupled with extensive experience in providing commercial and regulatory advice at an Executive and Board level.
- With a desire to keep the customer at the heart of all activities it is envisaged that you will possess deep experience with the National Energy Market, and experience navigating compliance and reporting requirements for a government-owned corporation or similar context will be highly regarded.
