About the role:
The General Manager Planning Australia is responsible for planning our Public Transport Networks, which take our customers where they want to go, when they want to go and on time. Managing the Australian Planning Team, this key role is accountable for the Public Transport network designs as well as timetable, driver duty and roster, performance and efficiency. The role liaises and negotiates with our clients and works cooperatively with our operations teams to drive positive public transport outcomes and shareholder value. Leading the Planning team, the role is responsible for ensuring consistent processes in line with our Kinetic Way and drive continuous improvement, both in our networks and our ways of working.
Key accountabilities:
Ensuring network performance issues are identified and rectified on a timely basis
Review Network design and effectiveness using data driven methodology
Production, management and delivery of the Planning Annual Plan
Production of Network Planning and Scheduling tender documentation
Reviewing and interrogating the efficiency and effectiveness of network solutions produced by the planning team
Review and update Planning Plans, Procedures and Work Instructions
Keeping up to date with Hastus technology and ensuring scheduling and rostering tools are utilised by all Planning team members in a consistent manner
Liaise with Performance Team in creating dashboards to drive continuous improvement in patronage, punctuality and reliability
Negotiating positive Public Transport outcomes with client stakeholders.
The boxes you will tick:
Experience in scheduling and rostering software such as Hastus or Austrics
Experience in Continuous Improvement methodology such as Six Sigma
Experience using planning software such as Remix
Experience using dashboard utilisation software such as PowerBI
Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Town Planning or related discipline preferred
Strong communication, written, interpersonal , and presentation skills
Sound planning and organisational skills including the ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
Able to work in a fast paced, dynamic, and agile environment
Self-motivated with a demonstrated enthusiastic approach to day-to-day business
