We design, manufacture and install modular buildings for education, affordable housing, mining, custodial and commercial sectors across all mainland Australian states. Our recreational vehicle work includes servicing as well as manufacture and distribute leading products. We work as One Fleetwood across our group of companies, including Building Solutions, Community Solutions and RV Solutions.
About the role:
Reporting to the Executive General Manager, the General Manager of South Australia will enjoy a busy, hands-on leadership role and will be part of a highly experienced Team who are driven and passionate about growing the business and further developing their footprint in the modular construction sector. Based out of our Para Hills facility you will ensure the effective management, growth and coordination of the day-to-day operations of our South Australian division. The role has full P&L responsibility, including Sales and Marketing, Design and Estimating, Manufacture, Transport and On-site Construction,
The key responsibilities of the role are to:
Provide ongoing leadership, coaching, mentoring and guidance to team members
Lead, motivate and influence the business performance to deliver the required outcomes to key stakeholders
Introduce, manage and maintain practices to improve overall service to clients
Facilitate and maintain effective communication between the various functional areas
Overall accountability for profit and loss of the state operations
Oversee the timely and accurate provision of relevant finance activities in accordance with contract and budget objectives
Review the performance of individual projects against deliverables, stepping in where necessary and reporting any areas of concern to the Executive
Facilitate career development, training and succession planning to ensure the retention, professional growth and personal contribution of all employees
Actively engage with the Executive and Leadership Team to meet overall objectives
Ensure timely and accurate submission of all relevant management reports
Contribute to the development, communication and management of the annual Business plan
Approve team expenditure in line with Level of Authority
Controlling the hours of work to ensure wages are maintained within the budgeted limits
Overall responsibility of HSEQ performance
Interface with various departments to maximise workflow and develop strong working relationships
Provide production related advice and information to other managers, employees and clients
About You:
Your exceptional people leadership capability will enable you to deliver high quality outcomes & results through a multidisciplinary team. You will be analytical and possess the ability to develop, implement and execute on strategies and against financial budgets. The successful candidate will lead by example and have the ability to instil collaboration, integrity and accountability across the South Australian team.
To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:
Minimum 5 years’ experience working in a similar environment
Minimum 5 years’ experience in managing a team
Senior Management in a construction-based environment or similar desirable.
Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
Strong ability to lead by example and motivate the broader team
Strong analytical and evaluation skills including the ability to identify and implement strategies for improved delivery
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
Works well under pressure and able to accept responsibility
Proficient in MS Excel, Word & Outlook
