A bit about your role

Reporting to the Executive General Manager –Strategic Planning & Programs, the role of General Manager – Network Strategy will lead the development and the communication of future nbn network choices.

This role will manage the definition of the strategic directions for the fixed-line technologies and will lead the delivery of deep strategic analysis, insights and recommendations to inform critical decisions around the future of nbn’s networks deployment.

The role will engage with internal and external shareholders to present scenarios of footprint evolution and guidelines for decisioning. This role will also develop the road map for cost efficiencies relating to the network.

As the General Manager – Network Strategy you will:
Lead the delivery of strategic programs, insights and analysis, and provide scenarios to inform decision making around network upgrades and investments.
Lead the development of nbn’s strategy in the non-fixed line, including developing scenarios for investment in fixed wireless capacity and upgrade of the Sky Muster satellites (depending on resource availability). This aspect of the role works directly with RDE
Lead the development of nbn’s strategy for fibre deployment
Lead the delivery of all reporting in relation to Strategic Network Planning, leveraging the reporting capabilities of the Systems, Data and Analytics team.
Lead a high performing network strategy team supporting nbn’s GPTW objectives and ensuring all team members are provided with the leadership support required to operate effectively.
Collaborate with all teams within Network Engineering & Security, and other nbn Business Units to ensure all aspects of the network are considered when developing future strategies
Lead and adapt the strategy for long-term management and optimisation of spectrum holdings to serve across NFL technologies, ensuring the spectrum strategy adequately supports both the FW and Satellite footprints. Provide a holistic view of the activities related to spectrum, covering regulatory, engineering and commercial aspects.

A bit about you

The successful candidate will likely possess significant experience working within a top-tier management consulting firm, combined with experience in a telecommunications business which has ensured an in depth understanding of network strategy and program delivery.

Candidates will also need to demonstrate experience in and strong knowledge of FTTX and HFC technologies. Skills in commercial assessment and modelling of potential strategies will also be highly regarded.

This is a leadership role managing a team of 10 people and as such we are seeking candidates that have a strong track record of motivating and inspiring teams to success.

Given the level of senior stakeholder responsibilities of the role, the successful candidate will likely have a demonstrated ability in communicating, engaging and influencing a wide variety of senior internal and external stakeholders, enabling you to work in collaboration with peers and Operational Leaders throughout the business. In addition, you will possess astute analytical and presentation skills, enabling you to translate complex information into various easy-to-understand formats.
