Rhomberg Sersa Australia (RSA) is the local operating division of the Austrian-based Rhomberg Sersa Rail Group. We are a leading rail design, construction, and maintenance specialist, providing for today’s rail networks through a complete range of innovative rail infrastructure solutions.
Rhomberg Sersa Australia is seeking a dynamic, experienced, and enthusiastic General Superintendent to join our growing NSW team. The role will be based on site, working on the Western Sydney Metro SSTOM Project.
About the role:
This role will oversee the delivery of construction projects on time, on budget and to the client’s expectations. Ensuring compliance relevant to WHS, rail safety and environmental regulations. The role will be required to manage teams and develop of culture of excellence in rail construction and project delivery.
Main duties and responsibilities:
- Responsible for the on-site supervision of the track construction team, plant, and subcontractors (with teams of over 200 people)
- Implementation of project management principles on worksites
- Developing effective relationships with clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders
- Maintain and implement cost control and quality management on site
- Ensure compliance with Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Regulations
- Working in collaboration with Project/Construction Managers during the project planning phase
- Responsible for the maintenance of project and site-specific documentation
- Effectively communicating with all functions of the business and project specific divisions
About you:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in a similar role. Railway experience is not necessary; experience working within a Tier 1, with concrete, structures, and cost knowledge will be highly regarded.
- Relevant qualifications around your experience
- High awareness of WHS legislation, including a Construction Induction Card (white card)
- Excellent communication & problem-solving skills, applying logic and rational thinking under pressure
- Computer literacy skills – use of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
- Team player, with a willingness to get involved across the business
