Geophysicist

Overview:

ZongeEngineering is a technical specialist providing electrical ground geophysicalsurveys across Australia to the mining sector to help define resourcesunderground.

Weare currently looking for an experienced Geophysicist to join our team inAdelaide, working a minimum of 38 hours/week (both on and off-site), for an immediatestart.

MainTasks

-         Conductinggeophysical surveys at different depths across sites using Zonge, GDD, EMIT,and Phoenix

Equipment.

-         Dataprocessing and data interpretation.

-         Beinga competent receiver operator, recognising good/bad data to calculate infilland extensions.

-         Fosteringtechnical solutions, enhancing project execution efficiency and ensuringeffective team participation.

-         Participatinghands-on in project activities to gain familiarity with geophysical objectives,as well as risks applicable to each project/client.

-         SupportingField Technicians and Junior Geophysicists, recommending ways to acquire thebest dataset.

-         Takingpart in field and office reporting duties.

-         Ensuringall equipment to be used on survey is in good working order.

-         Overseeingsafety equipment audits.

-         Identifying,controlling and reporting hazards.

Required/RelevantQualifications & Work Experience

-         Minimumof a degree or equivalent in Geophysics, and at least a minimum of 2 years ofrelevant experience in the industry.

Required/RelevantSkills & Knowledge

-         Experienceoperating a number of instruments including: Zonge, GDD, EMIT, and Phoenixequipment

(desirable).

-         Experiencerunning numerous types of surveys including: Induced Polarization,Electromagnetic, Downhole, Magnetotelluric, Controlled Source Magnetotelluric,NanoTEM.

-         Soundmechanical and electrical knowledge.

-         DOCEPregistration.

-         ValidFirst Aid Certificate.

-         Validmanual drivers licence.

-         Four-wheeldrive and ATV experience (desirable).

-         Currentpolice check, medical and drug check.

Annual salary will be between $70,000.00 to $80.000,00 (plussuperannuation) depending on level of experience.
