The Gift in Wills Associate is a new and critical role for the organisation which will work to grow the program. You will join at an incredibly exciting phase under new CEO and leadership across the board, including within Fundraising.

Reporting into the Head of Philanthropy this role will contribute to and deliver the Gift in Wills program focusing on acquisition, retention, and growth.

  • This role can be based in any capital city in Australia
  • Work from home opportunities available
  • Interstate travel may be required

About the Role

As a brand-new role, the Gift in Wills Associate will be pivotal in elevating the current program to support with the Foundations growth plans over the next few years.

This role is responsible for contributing to the development and delivery of a new strategy, as well as executing the Gift in Wills program with a view to grow the pipeline and increase supporters’ year-on-year.

This position will leverage strong relationship skills to inspire new bequests, as well as continue to nurture long standing relationships with existing bequests through the development and implementation of a targeted program which will identify, cultivate, solicit and stewards bequests.

Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development and delivery of the Gift in Wills strategy
  • Track all correspondence with supporters in Salesforce, maintaining a high level of attention to detail
  • Build relationships with Gift in Will supporters via phone calls, personalised email communications, ongoing written contact, events, and face to face meetings
  • Develop and oversee the implementation of innovative stewardship strategies for the acquisition, retention, and growth of Gifts in Will supporters
  • Develop and implement a Gifts in Will society
  • Work with other stakeholder internally to implement Gift in Wills society events
  • Work with the marketing team to leverage on potential promotional opportunities
  • In conjunction with the Leukaemia Foundation’s estate management partner, co-manage bequest estates and administration including acknowledge of all support

Skills and Experience

  • Fundraising experience preferably within relationship fundraising i.e Gift in Wills, Mid Value or Major Gifts
  • Strong administrative skills and database knowledge
  • Exceptional relationship management and stewardship skills and the ability build personable, meaningful relationships with multiple stakeholders
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, strong presentation skills and confidence public speaking
  • Well-developed marketing, communication, and fundraising skills
  • High level organisation and planning skills
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at one time
  • High levels of empathy and compassion and a passion for working in the sector
  • Flexibility and mobility to undertake business travel to fulfil requirements of this position
