Part-Time – Sales Assistant.

About the role

As a Sales Assistant, you are glamaCo's customer advocate. Inspired by our awesome customers and offering personalised recommendations and product support so they return and send their friends asking for you!

Working together as a team and assisting in the maintenance and merchandising of in-store inventory across a wide variety of products and promotions.

Every step in this role must be in accordance with company policies and glamaCo's high standards, which are essential in ensuring that the business grows through cooperation and transparency.

glamaCo operates 7 days per week, You must be available to work AT LEAST 2 – 3 days per week including 1 weekend day whilst working from the same store location. The final roster options will be provided to shortlisted applicants. The roster may include some extended hours during peak trading and promotional periods, as such, you will be paid in accordance with the relevant award provisions.

About you

Attitude is essential for our hiring decisions! Above all, we look for motivated, hard-working and adaptable applicants with a ‘can-do' positive attitude. Technology is your friend and essential to supporting the customer experience, “it's not my job” and “I don't know” are not in your vocabulary.

As this role is customer-facing, your presentation and sales skills as well as clear and precise communication are essential. Like all great salespersons, you will need to have a great relatable personality, resilience and most importantly a wow factor when presenting to your customer.

Team members come from a variety of industries, careers and educational backgrounds. It helps if you have had prior experience in customer service and/or high-volume retail and it's an extra bonus if you have prior experience elsewhere in the hair, beauty and health industry. You could even be a current customer of glamaCo.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Strong presentation and proven sales skills,
  • Strong customer and supplier relationship focus,
  • Strong mathematical skills,
  • Strong technology awareness,
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • Computer skills including the use of inventory systems and Google Workspace,
  • Ability to learn quickly,
  • Ability to adapt to changes quickly,
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely,
  • Ability to work under pressure in a high-paced, physically demanding environment,
  • Be a self-motivated, proactive and effective team player,
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail and accuracy,
  • Great High school, academic or sporting results.

glamaCo will work with the right applicant to provide further education to fill any skill gaps, however, you need to hit the ground running with strong confident selling and customer service skills, if you don't fit or come close to the criteria outlined, please don't apply.

How to apply

Our process is extensive, but we believe that out of this process the best talents shine through. It's important to note that some of our best team members had no experience, might have left school early or have been in a completely different industry, our careers team is looking for the right attitude to grow.

Applications are reviewed by members of our careers team and in some cases team members from the relevant store team. For all successful initial applications, we conduct a further online pre-interview including video sales pitch submission. From here, should your application progress, you will be invited to an Interview of no longer than 60 minutes. All Interviews are conducted by our hiring team members at the store location you have applied for or online.
