This is a full-time position with a salary of $120 000 per annum plus superannuation. Suitable candidates are expected to be able to perform the following duties:
- Repair and maintain all Glendun Group machinery, including metalworking equipment.
- Assess wear and tear on metal parts within manufacturer specifications.
- Repair and maintain factory and existing metal parts throughout the machinery, ensuring targets and benchmarks are achieved.
- Cut, shape, and weld metal sections and pipes using hand and machine tools, flame cutting torches, and welding techniques.
- Prepare metal surfaces for welding in an expeditious manner, cleaning and smoothing welds as necessary using filing, chiselling, and grinding.
- Manufacture new metal parts from desired gauge of steel best suited for the application while ensuring all current safeguards, protocols, and site rules are abided by.
- Attend daily pre-start meetings and complete JHA (Job Hazard Analysis) along with Take 5s.
- Perform maintenance on excavator buckets, teeth, and adapters, as well as other attachments that require metalworking skills.
- Ensure all tools are up to date and tagged minimising risk of danger.
- Confirm each machine is locked out and personal tag is secured, all electronic appliances are removed per manufacturer requirements before performing hot works.
- Maintain service records, machine hours, and other documentation related to metalworking tasks.
- Operate metalworking machinery where required.
- Coordinate metal parts and consumables as required.
- Ensure metalworking tasks are performed to comply with Glendun Group Standards.
- Correctly use and maintain all personal protective clothing and equipment supplied by Glendun Group.
- Perform routine metalworking duties in accordance with established and documented processes as required.
- Plan metalworking tasks so that they are done efficiently and in accordance with industry standards.
- Undertake other metalworking duties which are relevant to the position as requested.
Candidates are required to hold a trade qualification/apprenticeship and/or at least 3 years full time work experience, for the position.
