Let’s talk about the role and responsibilities:
We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable GLIMS Analyst / Administrator to join our team. As a GLIMS Administrator, you will play a crucial role in managing laboratory operations and data through the effective utilization of the GLIMS software solution. Your expertise in laboratory processes, system administration, data management, troubleshooting, integration, system customization, training, and data security will contribute to the smooth and efficient functioning of our laboratory.

Responsibilities:
Laboratory Process Understanding: Utilize your familiarity with laboratory workflows and processes to effectively navigate and leverage GLIMS. This includes handling samples, managing test requisitions, reporting results, ensuring quality control, and adhering to regulatory compliance.
System Administration: Demonstrate proficiency in system administration tasks, including user management, access control, security configurations, and routine system maintenance. Your expertise in these areas will ensure the smooth operation of GLIMS.
Data Management: Apply your solid understanding of database concepts and SQL (Structured Query Language) to manage and manipulate data within GLIMS. This involves accurate data entry, retrieval, updates, and executing database queries to generate reports and analyze data effectively.
Troubleshooting and Technical Support: Utilize your problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues related to GLIMS. This includes troubleshooting data entry errors, system errors, interface connectivity, and integration issues with other laboratory instruments and systems.
Integration and Interoperability: Leverage your knowledge of relevant standards for healthcare system interoperability to integrate GLIMS with other laboratory instruments, electronic health record (EHR) systems, and external data sources.
System Customization and Configuration: Utilize your understanding of GLIMS to customize and configure the system according to specific laboratory requirements. This may involve creating custom fields, templates, reports, and implementing laboratory-specific rules and workflows.
Training and Documentation: Utilize your proficiency in providing training and creating user documentation to ensure the smooth adoption and usage of GLIMS within the laboratory. Your ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to non-technical users will be valuable.
Data Security and Compliance: Apply your knowledge of data security best practices, privacy regulations, and laboratory accreditation requirements to maintain the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of data within GLIMS.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Biomedical Sciences, or a related discipline).
Proven experience working with GLIMS or similar laboratory information management systems.
Strong understanding of laboratory workflows, processes, and regulations.
Proficiency in system administration tasks, including user management, access control, and security configurations.
Solid understanding of database concepts and experience with SQL.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Familiarity with healthcare system interoperability standards.
Experience in system customization and configuration.
Strong training and documentation skills.
Knowledge of data security best practices and laboratory accreditation requirements.
