A rare opportunity in a highly-regarded private Catholic school has become available! The school is committed to providing an encouraging, inspiring and supportive learning environment, who are seeking an experienced Governance, Risk and Compliance Officer who can display the commitment to the mission of the Catholic Education system.
This role is a fulltime permanent position with working hours being Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. Along with free on-site parking, you will also receive 4 weeks annual leave, a paid stand-down period between Christmas and New Year and a remuneration range is from $ 85,000.00 - $90,000.00pa, plus 10.5% Superannuation, and an expected 2.75% increase as of 1 April 2023.
You will join a team who is described as very friendly, supportive and all get on very well together. You will reporting to the Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager and your role will focus on supporting and improving the governance, risk and compliance functions of the school as well as processes & systems.
Some of the responsibilities of the role are outlined below:
Perform a supporting role in the management and maintenance of the College's Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), compliance and incident management programs, related policies and systems.
Perform a leading role in the assessment and processing of Risk Management Plans Governance, Risk and Compliance Officer 2023 - Page 2 of 4
Perform a leading role in the processing of Workers Compensation matters, Injury Management and Return to Work programs.
Apply knowledge and an understanding of the technology platforms utilised to assist with the maintenance, support and administration of these systems and further develop their application and use across the College. This includes the College's online Policy Portal, Risk and Compliance Toolkit and online Staff Learning System.
Work seamlessly with all staff, but particularly, Heads of Department and middle-leaders, to support a positive risk and compliance culture.
Provide administrative and project support to the Governance, Risk and Compliance Manager to further streamline and improve processes and procedures.
Your experience and personal traits:
Ability to work and autonomously and utilise initiative to progress work.
Have a willingness to learn, undertake mentoring and follow instruction effectively.
Sound understanding of policy development and management processes.
Advanced IT skills, in particular Microsoft Office suite and database administration.
Demonstrated customer service skills, including a flexible and friendly approach.
Professionally presented and able to liaise pleasantly and professionally with students, contractors, and staff.
Excellent organisational and time management skills - able to prioritise.
Highly motivated, proactive and able to meet deadlines.
Respectful of confidentiality and privacy when working with sensitive data and materials.
Experience using online software, including content management systems, workflow management tools and databases would be an advantage.
Experience in an educational environment would be an advantage
Preparedness to undertake additional professional development opportunities as they arise.
