PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
SAP Government Security and Secrecy (GS2) organization is part of the SAP CEO Board Area. This organization ensures strict liability fulfilment of customers’ national security requirements, business enablement in sensitive industries and compliance with Critical Infrastructure as well as Telecommunication regulations for SAP world-wide. SAP GS2 unit is looking for a “Government Security Officer Australia (f/m/d)”.
EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS
Fulfil the role of a Security Officer, Government Security & Secrecy Office for SAP Australia (SAP Australia Pty Ltd) under respective national security programmes and initiatives, including as promulgated through Government Lead Departments and Industry Regulators
Support the regional Manager across Australia. Act as an internal trusted advisor to ensure protection of SAP’s business in Australia, involving national and public security agencies within the public sector, its supply chain and related strategic sensitive markets including, but not limited to, Aerospace & Defence, Healthcare, Utilities, Cyber Security and National Critical Infrastructure protection
Support and enable establishment and maintenance of effective internal communications protocols and procedures to manage obligations for national and industrial security in support Australian national security programmes and initiatives
Conduct GS2 Local Secrecy Officers interactions to SAP’s Australian businesses to enable compliance with related global SAP policies
Maintain and deepen established working relationships with customers’ senior security representatives and security authorities across Australia
Support the local business as senior trusted advisor and subject matter expert in direct customer engagements that involve national security
Maintain the GS2 internal stakeholder relationships, such as Field legal, IRO, Compliance and Privacy office, in support of regional regulatory obligations and related Critical Infrastructure/Classified Information Management (CI/CIM) deals
Support GS2 facilitation of security clearances and Requests for Visit in accordance with multi- and bi-lateral security treaties and instruments across SAP Australia
Leverage deep Government and Industry experience in support of SAP sales strategies and Deal Approval Risk Assessments
Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts in relevant authorities and security organisations and with other security professionals for the benefit of SAP as a trusted partner within the local markets
Lead initiatives to constantly improve of SAP’s operations and capacity to support customers in highly regulated markets
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
Significant management and executive experience managing a security function in Government ministries/agencies, regulated industries or companies operating in a national security setting
Attainment of undergraduate/postgraduate academic, or relevant professional qualifications is highly desirable, particularly in related disciplines including, but not limited to, Information Assurance, Information Security, Cyber Security or Risk Management
The sensitivities of the relationships with Government across ANZ jurisdictions mean that the position requires Australian citizenship
Personal Australian Government security clearance at Secret or Top Secret , issued by the Australian Government Security Vetting Agency, is required.
Essential knowledge, skills, and experience
Excellent organisational awareness and detailed planning skills
Experience in functional organisations, accountable for:
document safeguarding
information assurance, including as defined in Australian Government security policy, including Security Policy Frameworks (ISM) and or any other relevant Policy/Legislation
Excellent communication and influencing skills with government authorities, regulators, and security organisations
Excellent communication & presentation skills pitched to all levels, including executive management, in a multicultural setting, are essential
Demonstrable experience and proven track record in Government and heavily regulated markets with an existing network of stakeholders
Programme/project management qualifications are highly regarded
Willingness to travel within ANZ and potentially abroad, including Germany (subject to any ongoing COVID-19 restrictions)
Further highly desirable knowledge, skills, and experience
Controlled goods/information registration and ongoing management such as ITAR/EAR regulations
Physical and site security, as defined in relevant Australian Government security policy, such as Site Physical Security Installation or Design and subsequent certification experience
The role is not technical, but an appreciation of common technical security measures, particularly for Information Security and Cyber Security, is highly regarded
