We are looking for an energetic and experienced Gas Drainage Engineer to join the team and be a part of developing a new mine.
About the Role:
We currently have an exciting and rewarding opportunity for a Graduate Engineer - Gas Drainage to join our team at Ironbark No 1. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent you will be responsible for overseeing the surface and underground Gas Drainage systems, including managing UIS/SIS drainage drilling and the associated gas reticulation systems at Ironbark No1.
The position will be responsible for ensuring gas levels are low enough to allow mining units to operate safely and that production rates are not impacted by gas conformance.
The Gas Drainage program will be in full compliance with the safety, production, budgetary and environmental objectives of Ironbark No 1 while managing the cost of the program.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure that operations are not impacted due to gas conformance.
- Develop and implement the required Gas Drainage programs to achieve gas compliance for both short term and LOM strategies.
- Effectively communicate the known Gas Drainage risks/hazards to the business.
- Provide advice for fit for purpose and cost-effective Gas Drainage strategies to support the mine plan and schedules.
- Manage and optimise Gas Drainage drilling projects.
- Assist in the development of budgets and proactively manage Gas Drainage costs.
- Conduct audits of the Gas Drainage systems, including performance and quality assurance checks.
- Contribute to the development of a positive and collaborative organisational culture, establish and maintain effective relationships.
- Actively participate in the implementation, maintenance and compliance with the SHMS.
- Maintain all administrative requirements are completed in accordance with the role.
About You:
- Degree in Mining Engineering
- Coal Mining Gas Drainage program management
- RIIMCU603D Establish and maintain the Gas Drainage management plan (preferred) or willing to obtain
- Experience in Coal including exposure to Gas Drainage
- Software experience including AutoCad
- Desire to learn and challenge yourself
- Current Driver's License
