AddressSIMCO is a Mackay based company that specializes in the design, engineering, and manufacturing of Dragline Buckets, Ground Engaging Tools (G.E.T), Dragline Rigging, Dipper Buckets, Excavator Buckets and Cast Lip Systems that are sold and supported to mining customers around the globe.
Due to our continued growth domestically and overseas we are seeking the services of a Graduate Mechanical Engineer that is proficient with SolidWorks software or equivalent. The role is Salary / full-time and based in our Mackay, Queensland Head Office reporting to the Senior Design Engineer.
Key Responsibilities:
- Performing a variety of design and drafting activities, specifically 3D modeling and FEA simulation.
- Preparing dimensional drawings, assembly drawings for manufacture.
- Being involved in manufacturing and quality control processes.
- Maintain design journals, calculations and other documentation, i.e. drawings, bill of materials, list of design parameters, etc.
- Revise and update existing drawings reflecting design changes to ensure consistent documentation.
Key Criteria:
- Mechanical (or related) Engineering degree. Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
- Skilled or experience in 3D CAD (especially SolidWorks or equivalent).
- Understanding of Simulation (FEA etc.) processes and engineering calculations.
- Understanding of manufacturing processes, especially welding and fabrication.
- Excellent communication skills –verbal and written.
- Exceptional attention to detail for drafting.
- Organized and self-motivated with effective time management skills.
- Adaptability to maintain work output during times of pressure and deadlines.
- Ability to work autonomously and take initiative.
- Working as a member of an enthusiastic and passionate team.
