About the role

We are seeking a talented and driven graduate to work with our Studies Team. This is an excellent opportunity for growth and career progression.

Liberty's Studies Team develops closure plans for our clients considering deconstruction, remediation, rehabilitation, and disposal activities for assets reaching end of life. The sectors and assets we work with include Mines, Oil and Gas assets, Power Generation facilities, and emerging sustainable energy facilities.

Our work enables clients to plan for responsible closures and ensure they have adequately budgeted walking away from a sustainably closed site. The value of this work wins us the delivery of the actual closure projects.

The role will focus on the following:

  • Contributing to the delivery of closure studies;
  • Applying creative logic to come up with conceptual solutions for clients;
  • Developing estimates, schedules, and methodologies for closure of facilities; and
  • Writing reports to support clients' closure plans.

The successful candidate for this role would report to the National Engineering Manager.

This role provides an excellent opportunity for short-term travel (site visits) to a wide variety of locations throughout Australia and beyond.

Skills and experience

To be successful, you will need the following:

  • Excellent written and spoken English skills, including report-writing skills
  • Strong organisational and administration skills
  • Must be able to take ownership of work and commit to delivery timelines.
  • Willingness to learn and develop in the demolition and closure field.
  • Willingness to learn new software as well as assist in innovation
  • Must have a bachelor's Degree
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Australia.

Although not required, it would be advantageous to candidates to have the following attributes:

  • Experience in construction or deconstruction industries or related field
  • Experience in study delivery
  • Experience in estimating and estimating software (e.g. Benchmark)
  • Experience in delivery or audit on site
  • Experience in project scheduling

The successful applicant will need to complete a full medical, which includes a drug and alcohol test as well as a police check.
