The PositionAgmark Commodities are seeking a Grain Trader to assist in managing and developing our grains business, working with existing portfolios and customers, as well as exploring new opportunities. The successful candidate will be working alongside a team of traders to ensure the timely execution of contracts and provide our customers and suppliers with an efficient and professional experience. The role will include looking for trading opportunities, liaising with growers and communicating with consumer purchasers to ensure satisfaction from all parties.
Responsibilities:
- Liaising with growers regarding grain accumulation.
- Execution and reconciliation of contracts for suppliers and customers.
- Negotiate trades and pricing with both growers and buyers.
- Receival, dispatch and reconciliation of customer and supplier orders.
- Plan and execute logistics so that all contracts are adhered to.
- Liaising with other traders to identify opportunities and solve contract difficulties.
- Adopting a flexible approach with customers to accommodate any changes in customer
grain demand within reason via regular communication.
- Liaising with subcontractors for freight movements between supply and end user points.
- Seeking to improve efficiency and client satisfaction in the logistics space.
- General office clerk duties.
The location of this position is flexible to successful applicant after an induction period.
The PersonSkills and background required:
- Understanding of markets and an innate interest in them.
- Ability to think laterally looking for trading opportunities.
- A thorough understanding of price points and the dynamics of grower-seller interactions.
- A comprehensive knowledge of storage requirements and yield expectations that align with the trade strategy.
- Previous agricultural experience is preferred.
- Knowledge of grain production systems preferred.
- Strong focus on client service.
- Ability to communicate directly with growers in an accumulation capacity.
- Ability to prioritise, work under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong IT skills.
- Team focused attitude.
- An understanding of export documentation looked on favourably (not essential).
Given different levels of experience will be considered for the role, salary will be commensurate with skills and experience. This role is in an office-based environment with standard business hours. Though the successful candidate will need to be flexible enough to make themselves available as required.
