Graphic Designer

We're looking for 2 graphic designers to join our Communications team at the Victorian School Building Authority (VSBA) as Brand and Digital Content Advisers (VPSG4). In this role you will develop and maintain the VSBA brand and visual identity by:

• creating design products – including signage, printed collateral, social media graphics, presentations, and templates
• project managing externally sourced content – including procurement, relationships with suppliers, and budgets
• managing an image library and design server
• assisting with content management on the VSBA website (schoolbuildings.vic.gov.au)
• aligning your design strategy with audience needs and broader communication goals.

This role reports to the manager of the Digital and Internal Communications team.

About youYou will have professional experience as a mid-senior level designer. That will include:

• advanced Adobe Creative Cloud knowledge – InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop (After Effects and Premiere Pro skills will be considered a bonus)
• experience preparing finished art for large scale print, signage and publications
• a strong understanding of best practice design for social media.

To be successful in this role, you will have exceptional attention to detail, work well independently, and solve problems through creativity and a can-do attitude.
About the VSBAThe VSBA is the part of the Department of Education that plans, designs and builds new schools and kindergartens. We also upgrade schools and kindergartens and support them to maintain their facilities.
Our organisation is made up of property and building experts, project managers, architects, former principals and business managers, along with specialists in relocatable buildings, communications and community engagement.

About the Communications BranchThe Communications Branch (part of the Corporate Division) is responsible for all VSBA communications activities. This includes developing the external and internal profile of the organisation, managing all external communications, digital and social media, content strategy, proactive campaigns, and providing strategic advice.
There are 4 teams in the branch: Digital and Internal Communications, Portfolio Communications, Community Engagement, and Events.
