Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Graphic Designer to join Marketing and Communication, Chancellery Division.
The Graphic Designer requires excellent conceptual and strategic design ability, and a professional understanding of the role design plays in defining and strengthening QUT’s brand across its marketing, corporate, promotional and internal communication channels. The position sits within the Brand and Creative Studio, working with clients across QUT to interpret business needs and deliver creative communication solutions that support the marketing and communication strategy of the university in recruiting students, promoting research and developing its positive reputation. The Studio offers a range of services including print and digital design, interactive design, photography and video production.

The Marketing and Communication Department is responsible for:
Building and protecting QUT’s brand and reputation
Engaging and recruiting future students
Ensuring communications from QUT are effective and of high professional standard.
As well as professional services provided to the university community, the Department is responsible for a variety of corporate communication functions and oversees relevant policies, protocols and governance arrangements.
What you need to succeed
Your expertise and initiative, combined with your ability to work as an excellent team player will be vital to your success in this role.
You will demonstrate:
Education, training and/or relevant experience equivalent to the completion of a degree in Design or related discipline with specialisation in one or more areas including print, web or digital media. High competency/proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite and other professional channel-specific software applications.
Strong creative/conceptual thinking demonstrated through examples of successful idea generation for visual communication concepts.
Excellent core design, layout, and typography skills demonstrated across a diverse range of print and digital applications.
Demonstrated experience producing long-form corporate documents and applying interactive function to digital communications.
High level of communication skills demonstrated through professional client service, presentations, client pitches and team interactions including the ability to effectively negotiate and problem solve.
Demonstrated organisational, time management, and project coordination skills, with the ability to work efficiently across concurrent projects with a high level of attention to detail.
