The Group Business Director is a senior, strategic leader in the business that leads an exceptional client and team experience through the Director level team, working towards the business vision of being Australia’s most impactful agency.
RESPONSIBILITIES
TEAM
Lead the Account Services team; directing service, strategic and revenue initiatives and standards of all clients; directly and indirectly.
Creating team accountability around initiatives and standards.
Support the growth of the Account Directors and, indirectly, the Team Leads, to develop future leaders and trusted client partners.
Act as a point of escalation for team leads and their teams, supported by the People & Operations team as required.
CLIENT ENGAGEMENT
Establish and uphold the standard of our client/account management; covering account management practices, SLAs, reporting templates, time efficiencies and contact engagement.
Build trusted relationships with C-level client executives, advising on business and marketing strategy to drive revenue growth and product adoption.
Driving reports to deliver on lower-tier clients, while anticipating and addressing any client issues.
Seeking cross-sell and improved commercial opportunities with clients.
Leading client engagement plans – directing how, when and why teams interact with clients.
DELIVERY
Drive exceptional client strategies directly and indirectly through reports, while showing the value of the agency.
Work with the Partners, Directors and Team Leads to grow client spend, increase retention and onboard new clients.
Coordinate knowledge sharing in the business by collecting and distributing developments in Sparro technology, thought, execution and results.
Maintain a psychologically-safe environment and clear direction and clarity, to create knowledge sharing, collaboration and proactivity.
Aggregating and delivering client business challenges, trends and opportunities to the Partners and Senior Leadership Team to shape the Sparro x Jack Nimble product offering and position yourself as a Thought Leader in the business.
COMMERCIAL
Managing client invoicing process through team leads.
Driving contract and commercial discussions.

Skills
10 + years experience in agency and proven experience in a Group Account Director role
Highly-effective client/stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to quickly uncover and understand a client or market problem and develop an approach.
Exceptional communication, interpersonal and multi-level leadership skills, with the ability to affect change across both individuals and organisations, as a whole.
An advanced ability to independently plan, strategise, and mobilise to achieve a project or change in the organisation, including directives from the Business Partners.
A confident and considered approach to problem solving and project management.
Advanced knowledge and practice of digital channels, and broader business and marketing principles; incorporating these into all client engagements and responses.
A natural talent for exploring and workshopping business objectives, using data and digital skills to develop project plans.
Advanced commercial and business acumen.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to create accountability and clarity to reports.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENT
The performance of the Group Account Director will be determined based on their ability to:
Retain and grow key accounts, while indirectly affecting a broader range of accounts through systems, processes and people.
Develop client relationships, positioning Sparro as a key business partner.
Develop team members’ skills, experience and confidence.
