The primary purpose for this role is to support the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), finance teams and business unit managers to maintain and optimise financial reporting, planning, operating systems, and compliance. This will involve work to deliver high quality financial analysis, a focus on underlying data integrity and identifying operational efficiencies. Gain the necessary experience across financial and operational management to be considered for future CFO succession.
Oversee and assist in preparing the monthly financial reporting package in a timely manner.
Coordinate business partnering between the finance teams and the business unit managers, including monthly feedback on the underlying performance trends.
Coordinate the preparation of forecasts, budgets, and operating plans.
Work with the finance teams to develop, improve and document finance procedures including the month end and year end checklists.
Assist the CFO in various tasks listed:
prepare the monthly CFO Board report and other Board reporting as required.
treasury management, including foreign exchange hedging strategies, banking relationships, cash management and the operation of funding facilities.
manage the external financial audit for both the half year and full year, including the preparation of management papers on key accounting issues (the current auditors are KPMG).
tax management and governance.
insurance renewals and claims.
prepare investor presentations and reports.
mergers and acquisitions including due diligence, transaction completion and integration.
implementing and improving the ERP to enable data driven decisions and reduce the reliance on spreadsheets for reporting and analysis. This may include identifying and implementing new systems, for example: budgeting and forecasting, PowerBI.
Desired Skills and Experience
About You
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
CPA or CA an advantage.
Five or more years of accounting / finance management experience.
Accounting / finance management experience in a listed company an advantage.
Ability to communicate cost and financial information to all levels across the business.
Demonstrated knowledge of cost accounting processes and procedures within a manufacturing environment.
Experience implementing a new ERP or major process change is an advantage.
Effective financial governance, including risk identification and management.
Results-oriented to ensure delivery accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting.
Experience and ability in compiling annual operating plans and budgets.
Knowledge of AABS-IFRS and internal controls.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while meeting deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to effectively take action, solve problems and exhibit sound judgment and stress tolerance.
Advanced skills in Microsoft Word and Excel, and PowerPoint.
Teamwork/Collaboration expertise with significant experience in team/project-oriented activities.
Good analytical and decision-making skills.
Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
