Form of work MARS Recruitment are excited to be collaborating with a large Financial Services company, who are looking to hire a talented and highly driven Group Financial Controller to join their high performing team. This rare opportunity will support the CFO of this large Financial Services institution and would suit someone who has managed a small team, is able to manage competing demands and deadlines, and looking for a move into a leading banking institution.
This role will provide an excellent opportunity for an experienced individual with strong IFRS technical knowledge and ASX listed reporting experience. They boast a high performing, collaborative and rewarding culture with progression opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Manage the team deliverables around financial reporting and control
Attend an array of high level senior management meetings whilst articulating results and findings
Identify opportunities to improve existing process and implement new process as well as being a key influencer
Establish relationships with key senior stakeholders across the bank in all divisions, as well as influence
Manage team members to targets, recruit team members as required and facilitate the on-going development of all team members
Provide high level technical advice to the team as required
Oversee the documentation, adherence, monitoring and continual improvement to the internal control environment in relation to financial control
Liaise with external auditors and manage the audit process on a periodical basis
Key Criteria:
6+ years’ PQE experience within a large corporate/financial services group or a Senior Manager from the Big 4
CA qualified (or international equivalent)
Financial Control experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Commerce
Proven working experience managing a small team
Experienced in ASX listed reporting is required
Strong knowledge of IFRS accounting standards
Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
