About your new role

We are looking for a Group Manager Internal Audit with extensive internal audit & assurance experience, supporting with developing and delivering audit plans.

Responsibilities

Lead the development of the risk-based annual Internal Audit plan.
Develop and deliver IA Scorecard KPIs.
For all audits, complete the planning, risk assessment, scoping, controls testing and reporting phases of the audit process.
Escalate material issues ahead of audit completion
Co-ordinate IA team resources across NSW and QLD for group audits
Timely completion of internal audits in accordance with the IA plan schedule and time budget.
Timely completion of other assurance activities.
Present reports of findings and recommendations to management and other internal/external stakeholders.
Prepare and, with the GM IAA, present a quarterly IA status summary to the Board Audit Committee.
Provide leadership and development for the IA team members.
Co-ordinate IA work with IAA’s Regulatory Assurance Function (RAF).
Develop key internal and external relationships and participate in key management forums including the NSW & the QLD (management) Risk Committees and ICMs and Controls Project Steering Committee.
Support Group Manager Planning & Operations IAA with IAA uplift initiatives, activity status tracking and, where required, monitoring completion of management actions.

To be successful in this role you will have

Be independent in thought and action.
Appropriate tertiary qualifications and relevant professional qualification.
Previous experience (10+ years) in Audit, Compliance and/or Risk Management roles, including experience in a Managerial capacity.
Results driven with regulatory focus and commercial orientation.
Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management objectives.
Demonstrated assurance service capabilities.
Ability to deliver a complex program of work.
Dealing with ambiguity.
Demonstrated change management capability.
People management is a core strength.
Strong customer service focus.
Demonstrated ability to present findings/recommendations to senior managers within the business.
Demonstration of The Star’s values.
