Due to an exciting year of growth we are now looking for an experienced Group Travel and Event Coordinator to help grow and manage our event portfolio
Our Group Travel & Event Coordinator and will be responsible for
- Corporate, Group, and Leisure Travel projects from scoping, pricing to delivery and closing.
- Assist with event projects where required
- Exceed customer expectations through the delivery of high-standard programs by offering, professional and on-time / on-budget delivery.
- Work closely with Hotel Managers on all aspects of accommodations management.
- Work closely with Trip Designers on the lodging portions of tour packages.
- Create and manage hotel relationships, help to negotiate contracts and lodging P&L process for tour packages.
- Regularly review existing contracts to ensure we are receiving the best rates in the market.
- Be responsible for inventory setup and sales; and assist with marketing of packages.
- Occasionally assist Trip Designers with the hosting of select trips.
Our ideal candidate will have the ability to make strategic decisions; develop and maintain mutually beneficial relationships; effective organization and prioritization of work; detail-oriented; and experience in contract negotiations. A passion for and knowledge of endurance sports such as running, cycling and triathlons is a strong plus.
- Solid industry knowledge in the travel sector, in particular working with hotels.
- Customer service with a focus on exceeding client expectations
- Experience with evaluating hotel contracts and negotiating mutually beneficial agreements.
- Understanding of Group and Individual travel booking processes
- Understanding of Budgets, Contracting Process and Procedures.
- Knowledge of operations for hotels, venues, ground suppliers, and other elements that form a successful program
- Logistical / Geographical knowledge of destinations & access
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft office applications
- Hotel and Events software experience – Passkey and other related Event Software Skills
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills – written and oral
- Strong organisational time management & planning skills
- Able to work autonomously and self-manage workloads
- High attention to detail
- Comfortable with public speaking and interaction with our customers
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Ability to effectively manage multiple programs concurrently within a team
- Travel & Tourism accreditation (Certificate IV or higher)
