The role of the Group Worker is to provide supervision and support to young people who are subject to youth justice intervention. We are looking for a person that can assist young people subject to youth justice intervention to reintegrate into their community through supervision and support at programs and activities.
- Applicants are required to nominate an Aboriginal person or Torres Strait Islander person who is recognised and accepted within the community as a referee to support their ability to meet the key responsibilities.
- Travel is a requirement of this position; therefore, it is a requirement that the applicant hold a current “C” Class Drivers licence.
- The incumbent may be required to work hours outside the normal work hours.
- Employees must be, and remain, vaccinated against COVID-19 in accordance with the department’s COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements.

Key duties and responsibilities:-
*Assist young people subject to youth justice intervention to reintegrate into their community through supervision and support at programs and activities.
*Maintain case records consistent with departmental case recording systems in a timely manner.
*Assist in the development and delivery of group/individual activities and programs that are culturally appropriate.
*Engage with young people, family and community members to deliver culturally appropriate interventions to young people.
*Participate productively and collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
*Understanding of contemporary issues impacting on young people.
